City of Bones
This book was very good. I was pleasantly surprised. It is about a girl, Clary who finds out she is a shadow hunter. She meets other shadow hunters when her mother is kidnapped and she is confronted by a demon, which she barely escapes from alive. She learns about other shadow hunters and develops a crush on the mysterious Jace and they end up having to defeat Valentine, who has stolen the Mortal Cup, which can create new shadow hunters.
This is a very exciting and thrilling book. There are a few dull parts, but overall I would give it an 8/10. However, if you get really annoyed at differences in books based after movies, do not watch the movie for this book. It follows the same basic idea, but is almost completely different, and it doesn't help that the actors who play Jace, Clary, and Valentine do not look anything like I thought they would.
