Fablehaven-Book 3 (Grip of the Shadow Plague)

In the third book of the Fablehaven series, Kendra and Seth face another problem at the preserve when a mysterious plague turns all the creatures evil. Once again, it is up to the siblings to save the day.

This is still a very good 479 page book, but I would give it a 8/10, or four stars, because I liked the other books in this series better-they were more...exciting.

Fablehaven Series-Book 2 (Rise of the Evening Star)

In the second book of the Fablehaven series, Kendra finds herself with a problem-a kobalt in her school. Of course, only she can see it. With the aid of a mysterious man, Kendra and Seth get rid of the kobalt, but the artifact to drive the creature away is actually a demon in disguise, who bit Seth. Errol turns out to be foe, not friend and the siblings find themselves at Fablehaven for the summer, but the Society of the Evening Star is determined to take over the preserve and steal a precious artifact hidden there. As if matters couldn't get any worse, the demon that bit seth (Olloch the Glutton) will continue to grow in size and will not turn back to stone (go dormant) again until he achieves his ultimate goal--to swallow the person who awoke him, a.k.a., Seth.

This is a thrilling book with twists and turn around every corner-you never know what will happen, or what to expect. The second book of the Fablehaven series is 435 pages, so it will keep you busy. I would give it a  9/10, four and a half stars.

Fablehave Series-Book 1

This book was written by Brandon Mull and is about two siblings who visit their grandparents for a few weeks. Kendra, a 13 year old girl is very cautious, and what you would call a "goody two shoes". Seth, a 10 or 11 year old boy is very adventurous and just the opposite of his sister. He disobeys any rule he possibly can. Grandma and Grandpa Sorenson are the caretakers of a preserve for magical creatures that can only be seen if 1) you believe in them, and 2) if you drink the milk from Viola, the cow. Kendra figures out the secret and the two learn about magical creatures. Seth then gets everyone into trouble and it is up to Kendra to save the day.

I found this book very interesting. It is magical, fictional, and very exciting. This series has five books, all of which are very good books. This is a 351 page book, so you probably won't finish it in one day. I would give this book a 10/10, five stars.
